I used to be the guy that would buy the cheap dollar strings from Guitar Center when they had the huge blowout deals.
No longer.
After a friend turned me onto Elixirs, I realized what I had been missing. It's not necessarily life-changing, but it's definitely a step up as far as sound and quality goes. I don't have the most discerning ears, but I can definitely tell the difference between cheaper strings and Elixirs. They also tend to last quite a bit longer than the cheapo strings, and you can't beat the price that Amazon sells them, for. (The B&M guitar stores tend to have a higher markup)
